With a chronology spanning either late 1800's or early 1900's to 2020, these pens are the perfect gift for commemorating wedding anniversaries, birthdays, retirements, corporate anniversaries, and other milestones. The year(s) of special significance inscribed on the pen corresponds exactly to the year the wood formed in the tree that became the pen. The Douglas-fir tree used to make this pen had sprouted in Western Montana in the late 1800's or early 1900's. In 2020 the tree was harvested as part of a forest restoration project.

This pen features a magnetic cap that also posts on the end of the pen. Available in chrome, gold, or black titanium, this pen is made of high quality components. It comes with a premium Schmidt rollerball cartridge. The first and last year of the tree’s chronology are automatically included on the pen. Each pen will vary in origin date and grain pattern. As an option, additional year(s) or initials can be added to your pen by completing above field(s).

The pen comes with a beautiful wooden case for displaying both the pen and an information card describing the tree ring/natural history and forest restoration.

The Forest

Example of a sappling tree used for Tree Ring Watches. In the rugged mountains of Montana, where century old trees grow slowly, wood acquires extraordinary character. In our forest restoration work, we harvest thousands of small trees, only a few have the character to make the grade as a Tree Ring Co. piece.

Gift Box and Display

Each watch comes mounted on a small wood slab nested inside a cherry veneer box. When not being worn, the display stand allows the watch to serve as a small desk or shelf clock.

Hold history in your hands

The Tree Ring Pen is a unique and expertly crafted writing instrument. It is comfortable to hold and to write with. I am a pen collector and I have several hand made pens but the Tree Ring Pen is my favorite. When writing with this pen, you feel as though you are holding history in your hand. My pen dates from 1910-2010 and as does every Tree Ring pen you order, it is accompanied by a laminated card entitled Stories From The Tree Rings. The other side of the card explains the restoration of the forests from which the tree originated. It also comes with a wooden display case. The magnetic cap is another plus. It 'snaps' on to either end of the pen. It takes a standard ceramic rollerball refill available at office supply stores. The Tree Ring Pen makes a great gift for anyone who appreciates a well crafted writing instrument!

This pen was such a pleasant surprise. The feel of the pen is lightweight but not without quality. It is so smooth to touch and smooth writing. I love the way it glides across the paper. In fact I want one for myself. The story about the tree rings is a great bonus.
